Preamble Ramble

"We, the sovereign Filipino people, imploring the aid of our Almighty God, in order to build a just and humane society and establish a government that shall embody our ideals and aspirations, promote the common good, conserve and develop our patrimony, and secure to ourselves and our posterity the blessings of independence and democracy under the rule of law and a regime of truth, justice, freedom, love, equality and peace, do ordain and promulgate this constitution."

This hallucinating sentence is a requirement of our C.A.T. officers to us. At first look, I was greatly discouraged that we are required to memorize this as part of our C.A.T. grade. But when I realize that memorizing this will only spend time lesser than the half of my life, I soon to finish memorizing this Preamble.

Speaking in the first time makes me feel like stating a tongue twister. It broke my language entity yet improved my speaking ability. The Preamble takes a lot of me, and my saliva of course. But, despite of its characteristics I see worth blaming, it states an encouraging theme for us Filipinos to have great concern to our society with the love of God. I don't condemn this sentence in a manner of meaning. I am only complaining on its manner of delivering. I'm not a grammar teacher or anyone involving the study of speeches, but I am a person required to say this in front of the class.

Don't take this message seriously, because what matters is my recitation of it. O.O

Time is Gold... But, you sell time?

Many people are tired of getting bored at once. They are also tired of getting so quick at once. Well, what sort of people are you in?

There is a trivia saying that once you wait for time, it gets slow. But once you enjoy the moment, time pass fast. Based on my observations, students are most likely to complain about time wasting. Time wasting is a sort of event that occurs when you're curious of time or not. You waste time as you don't do anything. You waste time if you're waiting for it. This is a confusion everyone is meditating about.

Well, I came to realize that it is more fruitful to waste time by doing something that will improve life than wasting it by waiting. When you don't have time, you should relax, read a book, grab a pen and write anything what's on your mind. If those are not your hobby, then do what you like. God gave us freedom to enjoy on, but He expects us to enjoy freedom in a right way.

All of a sudden, you will see yourself busy on things you don't expect to focus on.

Lesson Learned!

   Last time, the class I am in performed role plays and puppetry about four Canterbury Tales written by Geoffrey Chaucer. Since most of my classmates played roles opposite to their sexes, the performances became fun and exciting. In the end of all of the performances, I realized that each of the tales possess valuable virtues and lessons that can be used in our lives within its progress.

   I do not look a tale by its climax nor its funny moments. I look it by the lesson it gives to the readers. So, I chose "The Pardoner's Tale" to be my favorite among the others. It tells about greediness that can make a life astray. In the tale, the three drunken men lost their selves upon seeing gold bars. They became real devils that they wished to have that gold by themselves in such a way that they would come up in an idea of killing each other.

   A quote from a greeting card fits the lesson of the tale. It says that,"Greediness for money and pleasure causes suffering and devastation of one's self.". Look at what happened to the men of greed. They experienced death just to have that gold. They should have thought  that the real important thing is that love and sharing to other people. Both are one of the purpose of life given by God almighty.

   I really have learned much from this tale. Thanks to Sir Geoffrey Chaucer.

Small Sacrifice, Big Hero

   Hero... Webster defines it as a person of exceptional bravery and a person admired for superior qualities and achievements. But, what is really meant by a hero? For a student like me, a hero sacrifices even his or her possession, tiny or big, for another person. A hero follows rules, cares for other people and doing even small things for their sake. Thus, each of us can be a hero, as a song says, "that a hero lies in you.", right?

   Each of us, maybe, has at least one hero. I, myself, have a hero of my own and I think this person would be one of the best example of a hero. My hero is my dearest Mama. I know some of us teenagers do not look their mothers like the way I did because they rebel for independence . But for me, she is not only my hero. She is my adviser, protector, caregiver and many more. Why? Because she is a mother and that's all.

   How could I say that Mama is a hero? First of all she loves me more than anything else. I know she will do anything for me. She is vivacious whenever there is an issue about me. She will encourage me if it was good and she will reprimand me if it was bad, just to make me better. mama also gives me money even if it was the last coin in her wallet. At the same time, she advised me to save money for my "little" needs. She does not tolerate me to go to "gimiks" if she knew I have many important things to do. These traits are maybe common to most mothers. But, I tell you, Mama is a rare one. She sacrifices her time, energy and effort for me when I needed her. I have proven it one time when one day, I was losing hope for a project in school (I think it is not necessary to mention my year at that time). Mama leaved her household chores and cheered for me. She danced and told me some jokes that made me laugh in a high voice. She then said, "Anak, kaya mo 'yan. Project lang 'yan , hindi 'yan ang buhay mo. Aba, marami pang periods na dadating. Kaya mo 'yan!" Since then, I really admired her more than anyone else. She gave a little sacrifice, which for me, made her a big hero.
